A further Side by Side member organisation has been accepted as a registered non-governmental agency by the United Nations.

UK-based Restored and its international alliance are looking forward to an enhanced role in international advocacy. Through attendance at UN sessions and lobbying key government and international officials,  Restored representatives will seek to ensure that faith contributions are included in the global response to ending violence against women.

Eliminating all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres is one of the targets of Sustainable Development Goal 5: ‘Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls’.

The good news of registration with the UN arrived as Restored announced its new ‘Unashamed’ campaign which will involve students at 11 universities. From October, the campaign will be run in conjunction with Christian student social action charity Just Love. It will challenge ‘lad culture’ and sexual abuse in universities and get Christian students involved in ending violence against women.
