Side by Side CSW64 Advocacy Guide and Faith in Beijing Briefs

The UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. Each year, CSW brings together in New York governments and civil society from around the world. It is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, where member states evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment worldwide. There are various types of events which civil society can hold and access. These include Side Events (sponsored by governments) and Parallel Events (organised by civil society).

This guide is to support faith actors to advocate for gender justice at the UN. Also included is a series of briefs produced by the Faith in Beijing collective that focus on Human Rights, Families and Sexual and Gender Based Violence.
